Suzuki Assemblers Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. to Cease Operations posted on 2020-07-01 10:48:15

Suzuki Assemblers Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. will cease all operations in Malaysia, with effect from 31 July 2020.
A letter with Suzuki Assembler Malaysia's letterhead signed by Managing Director, Mr. Kunihiko Uetsuki was sent to all authorized Suzuki dealers, informing them of the decision. It was posted online and sighted by us.Their office has closed at the time we saw the correspondence, and such we shall reconfirm the veracity of the letter and its contents.
The letter stated that all business transactions with dealers will cease immediately with effect from today, 1 July 2020. As such, all Suzuki Dealers Contracts will be terminated on 31 July. Suzuki Assemblers assured the dealers that they shall return all bank guarantees and cash deposits by 15 July 2020.
Interestingly, it contains information that future businesses concerning the Suzuki brand will be handled by Suzuki Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (SMSB).
However, there is no indication of what caused the decision although we have seen Suzuki’s market share wane over the years in Malaysia. It is a real shame as Suzuki does produce really high quality and good motorcycles, thus we hope the new custodians will bring Suzuki back to its former glory.
